Author Guidelines

Submission Checklist

• Submit the manuscript electronically through the JTTR page on DergiPark.
• Prepare the main manuscript without author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, acknowledgements, or other identifying information.
• Use the official JTTR manuscript template.
• Upload the completed Metadata file containing the Metadata and Author Contribution sheets.
• Upload a separate Title Page; for empirical studies, uploading the dataset is also recommended where appropriate.
• Confirm that the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

1. Submission and File Preparation

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the DergiPark system. Authors need a DergiPark account before beginning the submission process.

The manuscript should be uploaded in Microsoft Word or PDF format and must follow the official JTTR template. You can view a sample article that follows the template here. The main manuscript file must not include any information that could reveal the identity of the authors.

Required Submission Files

• Main manuscript file: fully anonymized and prepared using the JTTR template.
• Metadata file: the Metadata and Author Contribution sheets must be completed. Macros should be enabled before the file is filled in.
• Title Page: a separate file containing the manuscript title, author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, contact information, acknowledgements, funding information, and conflict-of-interest declarations, where applicable.
• Dataset: recommended for empirical studies when sharing is legally, ethically, and methodologically appropriate.

2. Manuscript Structure

Each manuscript should contain a title, abstract, keywords, main text, appendices where necessary, notes, references, and any tables or figures.

• Title: use sentence case; capitalize only the first word and proper nouns.
• Abstract: 150–300 words, clearly stating the purpose, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions.
• Keywords: provide 3–7 keywords that accurately represent the manuscript.
• Full-length articles: maximum 12,000 words.
• Research notes: 3,000–5,000 words.

3. References and Citations

The reference list must begin on a new page at the end of the manuscript. All in-text citations and reference entries must comply with APA 7 style.

• Include volume, issue, and page numbers for journal articles.
• Include DOI information whenever available.
• Where possible, provide stable links to full-text versions of cited works.
• Ensure that every in-text citation appears in the reference list and every reference-list entry is cited in the text.

4. Formulas, Tables, and Figures

Formulas

Equations must be numbered consecutively at the right margin as (1), (2), and so forth, and must be cited in the text using these numbers.

Tables

• Tables must be clear, readable, and self-contained.
• Place the table title above the table, for example: Table 1: Results of the Analysis.
• Place footnotes and source information below the table, for example: Source: Authors’ elaboration.

Figures

• Figures must be high resolution, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
• Vector formats are preferred where available.
• Place the figure caption below the figure, for example: Figure 1: Study Area.
• State the source below the figure, for example: Source: Authors’ elaboration.

5. Author Responsibilities

• A maximum of seven authors may be listed on an article.
• Each researcher may author only one article per year in JTTR.
• Every listed author must have made a substantive scholarly contribution and must approve the final manuscript.
• The corresponding author is responsible for all communication with the journal.
• Authors must secure written permission for copyrighted tables, figures, scales, images, or other third-party materials.
• Authors are responsible for the integrity, legality, accuracy, and ethical compliance of the submitted content.
• Any potential conflict of interest must be declared in the cover letter or Title Page.

6. Publication Terms

• JTTR does not charge submission, processing, publication, or page fees.
• Authors retain copyright in their published work.
• Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
• Authors may reuse their work provided that the original publication in JTTR is properly acknowledged.
